Wings Like Eagles

Isaiah 40:31 — “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Strength That Fades
We all know what it feels like to run out of strength. Fatigue doesn’t just come physically—it weighs on us emotionally and spiritually. We push forward, but at some point, our own energy fails.
Isaiah reminds us that human strength has limits, but God’s strength does not. Renewal isn’t found in willpower—it’s found in waiting on Him.
Hope That Renews
To “hope in the Lord” means to actively trust, expect, and rely on Him. It’s not passive—it’s a steady leaning into His promises. When we place our hope in Christ, He renews what we cannot manufacture ourselves: courage to keep going, faith to keep believing, and endurance to keep moving.
This renewal lifts us above the struggle, like eagles soaring higher than the storm.
Running the Long Race
The promise is not only soaring—it’s running without growing weary and walking without fainting. God gives us strength for both the extraordinary moments and the ordinary steps. Whether the season calls for soaring or simply putting one foot in front of the other, His strength is enough.
This Week’s Challenge
When you feel weary this week, pause and pray Isaiah 40:31 aloud. Remind yourself that your strength comes not from yourself, but from the Lord who renews.
A Prayer for Renewal
Lord, renew my strength as I place my hope in You. Lift me above discouragement, give me endurance for the race, and help me walk faithfully each day. Amen.
