2 Kings 6:16 “Don’t be afraid… Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
Surrounded, but Not Defeated
Elisha’s servant woke one morning to see an enemy army surrounding the city. Fear took hold immediately - how could two men stand against so many? But Elisha’s response was calm, confident, and full of faith: “Don’t be afraid. Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
Then Elisha prayed, and the servant’s eyes were opened. Suddenly, he saw hills filled with horses and chariots of fire - the armies of heaven standing guard. What seemed like certain defeat was actually a stage for God’s unseen victory.
Seeing Beyond the Visible
We often feel outnumbered. The pressures of life, the weight of temptation, or the enemies of fear and doubt can feel overwhelming. But like Elisha’s servant, we’re often only seeing part of the picture.
Faith doesn’t ignore reality - it sees beyond it. God is always at work in ways we cannot see. His presence surrounds us, His power sustains us, and His armies fight for us even when we feel surrounded.
Courage for the Battle
The enemy wants you to believe you’re alone. But Scripture reminds us again and again: you are never forsaken. The same God who opened His servant’s eyes can open yours, reminding you that He is fighting for you.
Victory isn’t always visible in the moment - but it is certain in Christ.
This Week’s Challenge
When fear tries to overwhelm you this week, pray Elisha’s prayer: “Lord, open my eyes.” Ask God to help you see His hand at work beyond what you can see in the natural.
A Prayer for Vision
Lord, open my eyes to see Your presence and Your power at work in my life. Remind me that I am never alone and that victory is already Yours. Amen.
