Strength in Weakness

2 Corinthians 12:10 — “For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

The Paradox of Faith

The world celebrates strength: independence, power, and self-reliance. Weakness, on the other hand, is seen as failure. But Paul flips that perspective upside down. In Christ, weakness is not the end—it’s the place where true strength begins.

God’s power shines brightest in the cracks of our humanity.

Power Made Perfect

Earlier in this passage, Paul recalls how God told him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” The truth is humbling but freeing: we don’t have to have it all together. In fact, our limitations create the perfect stage for God’s strength to be displayed.

Our weakness becomes a testimony, pointing to a strength that is not our own.

Living With Dependent Strength

To embrace weakness isn’t to give up—it’s to lean on Christ more fully. Dependence on Him is not defeat; it’s victory. It’s in those moments when we feel inadequate, weary, or broken that His power carries us forward.

When we stop pretending to be strong enough, we start experiencing the God who truly is.

This Week’s Challenge

Identify one area of weakness you usually try to hide. Instead, bring it to God in prayer and ask Him to show His strength through it.

A Prayer for Dependent Strength

Lord, I confess my weakness to You. Let Your power rest on me and show me that true strength is found only in You. Amen.
