God of All Comfort
Share
2 Corinthians 1:3–4 — “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
The God Who Draws Near
When hardship comes, many people feel abandoned by God. But Paul reminds us of the opposite: our God is not distant—He is the God of all comfort. He draws near to us in the valley, bringing peace, presence, and strength no one else can provide.
His comfort doesn’t always remove the trouble, but it sustains us through it.
Comfort That Overflows
God doesn’t comfort us so we can keep it to ourselves. He fills us so we can pour into others. Our scars, once healed, become channels of compassion. The comfort we’ve received equips us to extend hope to those walking through the same darkness we once knew.
Our trials, redeemed by His grace, become testimonies of His faithfulness.
A Ministry of Comfort
Every believer is called into this ministry. When we see someone hurting, we don’t need to have all the answers—we simply need to share the comfort we’ve experienced. Sometimes the most powerful witness isn’t a sermon but a presence that says, “You’re not alone. God carried me, and He’ll carry you too.”
Comfort received becomes comfort given, multiplying hope in a broken world.
This Week’s Challenge
Think of one person who is hurting right now. Reach out with encouragement, prayer, or even a simple reminder that they are not alone. Share the comfort you’ve been given.
A Prayer for Comfort
Father, thank You for being the God of all comfort. Help me receive Your peace in my troubles and share that same comfort with those in need. Amen.
