Chosen & Sent

John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit - fruit that will last - and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”
Chosen by Grace
We live in a world obsessed with earning worth - through performance, success, or approval. But Jesus cuts through that noise with a reminder: “You did not choose me, but I chose you.”
Our calling doesn’t rest on our qualifications or achievements. It rests on His grace. You weren’t an afterthought or a backup plan. You were chosen by the King of Kings for a purpose that cannot be shaken.
Sent With Purpose
Being chosen is not just about belonging - it’s about being sent. Jesus appoints us to bear fruit, and not just temporary fruit, but fruit that lasts into eternity. Every act of obedience, every word of encouragement, every seed of the gospel planted in someone’s life carries eternal weight.
We aren’t chosen to sit idle - we are chosen to move, to serve, to proclaim, and to shine.
Bearing Fruit That Lasts
The fruit of our lives is evidence of the One who chose us. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control - these are not manufactured by our effort, but produced by the Spirit at work in us.
When we walk in step with Him, we bear fruit that reflects His Kingdom and testifies to His name.
This Week’s Challenge
Each morning, thank God for choosing you. Then pray: “Lord, show me one way to bear fruit for You today.” Look for opportunities to encourage, serve, or share your faith.
A Prayer for the Sent
Father, thank You for choosing me. Help me live as one appointed for Your purposes. Produce fruit in my life that lasts for eternity, and send me wherever You need me to go. Amen.
